A Fashion Agency is a resource for women to buy, exchange and sell designer and high quality clothes. 

We also accept shoes, hats, bags and belts.

Buying from a dress agency is an excellent way for women to acquire quality designer clothing at an affordable price. 

No…but nearly. Every item is inspected and conforms to our very high standards; otherwise we would not stock them.  All our clothes are dry cleaned before we sell them and they look so good that it is virtually impossible to tell them from new.

All garments must be of a high quality – we check all clothing for rips, tears, any marks and will only take the best.  Every item is inspected and conforms to our very strict policies.  Elaine has very high standards and part of the training we receive concentrates on just that. Elaine has a unique ability to match and fit clothes to her clients needs and knows exactly what is in or out of fashion.  This information is passed on to all staff.

We have a very broad range of customers.  Some are professional women who need to look good and enjoy being well dressed yet have little time for shopping.  They appreciate the savings available as a result of buying from Sequels.

Some are women going to a special function – a wedding or dinner dance – who want to be well dressed without spending a lot of money on an outfit that may only be worn once.

Some are women who are planning a cruise, and want outfits suitable for each night’s dining.

Most are women who love clothes and enjoy shopping but don’t want to look the same as everyone else.  In particular they enjoy the high level of service that Sequels offer.

All sorts of women bring clothes in to us to sell.  Some are women who have an extensive wardrobe and shop regularly for quality clothes.  The majority of the clothes are brought in by regulars who simply need the wardrobe space. Others are celebrities who have too much money to spend!

Some are women who have a special outfit in their wardrobe – it was probably very expensive and bought for a wedding or special dinner dance.  They are unlikely to wear it again and do want more space in their wardrobe.

Often they have hectic business and social commitments that entail cocktail parties, black tie dinners and often the occasional ball. The outfits are usually only worn a few times, often just once.

Most are just ordinary women who (like most of us) have bought on a whim and never worn the outfit!

Even though the sellers receive only a fraction of the original cost, it is nice for them to get a little back. And the beautiful garments that they loved will go to new owners, where they will be worn and appreciated.

We will try!  If you are looking for a particular item you can register your details with us and we will let you know if one becomes available.  This website allows us to place requests, so let us know what you are looking for and we will do our best to locate it for you.

We now have an extensive number of stores with a huge stock holding.  We have thousands and thousands of garments throughout the country…This is great news for you and means that is very unlikely that we will not be able to find something to suit you.

We can arrange for an item to be sent to your local shop for you to “try before you buy”.  And remember you are under no obligation to buy.  We’ll just pop it back into our stock for the next person.

You are welcome to phone before you come into the shop to check if we have a particular make. Remember we rotate stock on a bi-weekly basis so you need to be quick.

It may be that a garment is available through our network of shops.  Whenever possible we will arrange for it to be available for you to try before you buy.  Remember you are under no obligation and we pride ourselves on never pressure selling anything.  Our motto is “The right woman in the right dress”.

We would rather you go away empty handed and come back for another look than go away with the wrong outfit.

It's hard to tell as our stock changes daily and we also have stock circulating around all our stores bi-weekly.

However, most outfits range from £70 up to around the £300 mark.  Remember when these outfits were new they could cost anything up to £1000 or more.

Of course not, we carry a wide range of hats, shoes, handbags and jewellery to complement any outfits you may buy from our shop.  And even if you already have a dress, why not see if you can buy your other accessories from us.  You never know what you may find.

Fashion is very seasonal and having been established for 15 years we have lots of experience of the current fashions, what sells and what doesn’t.

At Sequels we only accept clothes that are seasonally correct, in very good condition, clean and no more than one or two seasons old.

Sellers bring their garments in and leave them at agreed prices. We settle on a 45/55 commission basis (ex VAT). You need to call us to find out if your garments have sold, then you can arrange to come in to collect the money and see what new stock we have to fill that space you now have in your wardrobe!

Alternatively, we can send you a cheque for the amount, or we can arrange for a credit note which you can use next time you buy garments in the shop.

And the beautiful garments that you loved will go to new owners, where they will be worn and appreciated once again.

We will take every care to protect your garments whilst in our premises, however it is not insured against any loss or damage by fire, theft, flood or other means.  It is a fundamental term of our agreement with you that all garments left by you are solely at your own risk and that no responsibility is accepted by us for any loss or damage by whatever means.  It is your responsibility to have in place any necessary insurance.

Unfortunately, none of our Sequels stores currently take wedding dresses.  However, we will consider bridesmaids outfits as they can often be re-sold for a prom or ball.

I am afraid Sequels does not currently accept menswear.  Men tend to keep their clothes longer than women and we therefore find that there is not enough nearly-new menswear to make it a viable option at this moment in time.

Unfortunately, none of our Sequels stores currently take childrenswear.  However, we may consider this avenue at some point in the future.

We accept switch and all major credit cards but will also take cash and cheques with a cheque guarantee card.
